The Noll's News

Dear Family and Friends                                                   Summer 2010

Aron was in Haiti the first part of July. The ministry there is growing, as the needs are big and desperate.  Aron's job enables many to see what Global Aid Network is doing and find ways that they can help.  We have volunteers going and helping and with Aron seeing the need firsthand, it becomes evident of where the needs are. Please pray for the people in Haiti. It has been 6 months since the earthquake, and they live lives still surrounded by chaos and disaster.  God is moving on people's hearts as they open up to seeing their need for Him in their lives and we are there to help them know that HE is real and LOVES them!

Aron was blessed by his time there and encouraged by the openness to Jesus in the hearts of people there.  The situation around them is unstable and chaotic, but God is coming in and they are receiving His stability and constant love.  Our group (GAiN) was already starting a partnership in Haiti prior to the earthquake and had recently received a shipment a small time before the earthquake so they would be ready to help people.  Only God knew that the need that was coming and we were ready to respond without needing to wait for a shipment.  When God speaks to us to do something it is important to listen and obey because He has the bigger picture in mind and just needs wiling servants to do His work to demonstrate His love.

Our baby boy is due to arrive Sept 16. I am tired, but that is expected and otherwise feel good. I am so thankful for health and help from our other kids.  Maleena and Lian are excited and often talk about "when baby brother comes".

We need to raise some extra funds for the birth and added insurance. If you would like to make a special gift, we would value anything and everything you might be able to help us with. If you are considering supporting us monthly, let us know. We would love to talk to you more and definitely answer any and all questions! Specifically we need new monthly partners on an on-going basis to cover the $532.79 per month that our benefits increase as we add another family member. We also need about $500/month in ongoing monthly support as well to cover those who have had to decrease their giving due to job loss and family changes.  We also need about $4,000 for the medical expenses of our portion of the hospital bill. It might sound like a lot but we have seen God bless us and others with anything they are willing to contribute.  Every bit adds up and God loves the cheerful giver.  Our son gave 50 cents at church the other day and I like to think that God knows every penny and cares about every giver!

Please pray for us as well as our house still isn't ready for us to move into and we had hoped it would be before our baby is born. Please pray specifically that we can find people to help and the final things come together.

We know that prayer and asking works because we experienced and huge answer to our prayers!  Last postcard we sent out we said we needed a vehicle to accomodate 3 children.  A friend of a supporter of ours had already had the conviction to donate her car, but was praying about who that would be.  Our postcard arrived and it seemed to be a good match. In June Aron flew up to Chicago area, met with a church and others as well as picked up our new to us donated Chevrolet Blazer.  We are so thankful that God knows our needs and knows how to meet them by people willing to listen and obey Him too!

Dear Family and Friends,                                                                                          Spring 2010

Family: Yvonne’s pregnant and the baby is due in September! The ultrasound shows a healthy baby and the kids got to hear the heartbeat. We will find out the gender on Mother’s day. Maleena is 5 and reading lots of new words, enjoying Sunday school and is learning to hear God’s voice. We recently met a man in our complex after Maleena said I think he is from Ethiopia and God wants us to talk to him about Jesus. We went and talked to him and his grandparents were from Ethiopia and he knew Jesus! Yvonne is still doing home school with her. Lian is speaking in fairly good sentences now and just had his 3rd birthday and likes his friends in Sunday school. We are brainstorming baby names and realized that the first letter of all of our names almost spells FAMILY: F.Aron.Maleena.I.Lian.Yvonne! It would be fun to have that fall in place naturally. We met a family in our church that are having a baby at the same time. Don and Lori Gordoni will be having their 11th child! Lori and Yvonne share a birthday. Don was involved in a video ministry in the Dallas area for about 15 years and he recently left as a step of faith to pursue a film ministry and a film that’s going to be distributed by Sony-Provident (the people who distributed Facing the Giants and Fireproof). They are living completely by faith without any ongoing guaranteed income. Read more here: “neveradullminute.blogspot.com”. Aron has been able to do some side consultation with Don on the script. As a result of one of our supporters suggestion, Aron met with the people who wrote, directed and shot the End of the Spear film that was out in theaters several years ago. We may do some side work with them facebookin the future.

Ministry:

Aron recently edited a video that was shown at the Campus Crusade International Headquarters in Orlando for a special event that will focus on packing meals and helping people in Haiti. You can see this on our website: www.TheNolls.net under the video tab along with several other new videos from Africa. We have been here almost one year and are excited by what God has accomplished in and through us while we have been here. We don’t know what is next but we know whatever it is that God is in control and He loves us and you as well!!!

Our and your needs:

Our Suburban has drained our finances and is on its way out the door. Since we are expecting another child we are asking that if you have a 6+ seat vehicle with good mpgs like the Mazda5 and are able to donate it to us we are able to get a tax deductible receipt for you through Campus Crusade if you are able to donate the Blue Book Value of the vehicle to our account and then we will purchase the vehicle from you with those funds. We are still in need of at least $500 of additional monthly support to increase our insurance for the new baby. We have just been squeaking by but know that soon we will have to have some new supporters come on board. Please let us know if that is you! Ephesians 1 has been an encouragement to us knowing that Jesus has blessed us and called us and equipped us to do special things for Him and His kingdom. Thanks for helping us in any way that you do! We would love to hear how you are doing and pray with you.

MARCH 2010
The following is a story from one of our teams doing work in Haiti:

Granola Bars Save a Life
PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI

Our team in Haiti recently took a break on Sunday to attend church. Kids are everywhere in Haiti, and while our team was attending worship, the Lord brought a specific little girl to their attention. The children there love to hold your hand and generally be affectionate. Through this one of our team members noticed that a certain 12 year old girl was burning up with a fever.
Some on the team began to interact with her, and found out that she had not eaten in eight days. This seems so hard for us to understand as Americans, where even our pets often drink water that has been filtered from our tap.

One of our guys soon realized that he had four granola bars with him and that they would be of great help to her. Because of the state of desperation, if he would just bring the food out into the open, it could cause a great commotion since there was not enough for everyone. So, he snuck them into her bag and helped her begin to eat one of them. Later, he was also able to make sure our medical team saw her and she was given the medicine she needed.

The next day it was arranged for a truckload of food to be delivered to this church. Along with the food, we provided water filters so that the water could be purified of bacteria.
To their delight, the team saw the girl with the fever feeling much better and even helping hand out water filters as people were trained in how to use them properly.
It is really amazing how such a small thing like a granola bar can make such a big difference in the life of a little girl.

JESUS FILM TEAMS ACTIVE
There are several Jesus Film teams that have been active throughout Haiti, and recently the film was shown in and around some of the “Tent Cities” that have popped up all around Port-au-Prince.
Last week, the film, which is essentially a visual of the book of Luke, was shown on the lawn of the Haitian “White House”. During that time, 46 people placed their faith in Christ. Regardless of the opportunity - showing the Jesus Film or handing a water filter to someone and explaining that just as the filter removes germs, Jesus can remove their sin; needs are being met and the gospel is going out.

The Nolls were interviewed and featured in Aron's College Website Aron was interviewed in by an ORU journalist and the article was posted at the following link. It was a fun interview that showed us just how God has been working in the Noll's life:
